No places see more of our baskets than these six, inside the District and just across the river and the line. Each picture comes from the favorites listed on that town's own page.
Same-day delivery is not offered
Washington Baskets has no same-day zone in the District, in Maryland or in Virginia; every address works to one timetable. Order by 2 p.m. Eastern, Monday to Friday, and delivery normally follows in 1–2 business days. The date checkout gives you is an estimate rather than a promise: traffic, weather, building security and access can all shift it.
Holidays on the calendar
Columbus Day and Juneteenth are ordinary delivery days. Nothing is delivered on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year's Day, so leave room around them when you pick a date.
December books up
No month comes close to December for orders. If a holiday gift matters, place it well ahead of the last week before the 25th.
Every town page, by state and county
The District is a single city, so it has a single page. Maryland's towns sit under their counties. Virginia does it differently: its cities belong to no county, so Alexandria, Falls Church and the rest are listed on their own. Tap a state to open it. Offices, agencies and government buildings
A good share of our baskets go to desks rather than doorsteps: company receptions, government offices, institutions and administrative buildings across the DMV. Offices and government buildings are reached during business hours where possible, and homes usually by the end of the day.
Many buildings take deliveries at a security desk, mailroom, concierge, front desk or loading area instead of the recipient's door. Give the company name, department, suite or room number, the recipient's phone and any access instructions, and the basket has the best chance of reaching the right person.
Ordering for a whole team
Five baskets or more come off 10% through our corporate page, which also has an order form for a list of recipients. Delivery to the Washington, DC area is free on orders of $100 and above, before taxes, for each address. For Christmas, bulk orders should be paid and sent in by December 12.
Sending from outside the US
Family overseas, a colleague abroad, a friend posted far from home: plenty of our buyers are not in America. Prices are in US dollars and your card issuer converts the charge. The basket is delivered inside the Washington area, so there are no customs forms and no duty for the person receiving it. Each country page lists the gifts its senders choose.
Sending from another state
A buyer in Texas or Ohio pays the same prices, on the same terms, as one on K Street. Each card turns our 2 p.m. Eastern weekday cut-off into your local time, and the page behind it shows what senders from that state pick.
Build a basket of your own
10% of our orders include a basket the buyer put together item by item, and Custom Gourmet Gift Baskets is ordered more often than any other single gift we sell. Pick the contents, keep to your budget and add a card message; the wine and champagne builders work the same way.

- No same-day option anywhere; delivery normally takes 1–2 business days after a weekday order placed by 2 p.m. Eastern.
- Delivery to the Washington, DC area is free from $100, before taxes, for each address; below that, the charge appears at checkout before you pay.
- Need to change an address or cancel? Contact customer service as early as you can, because changes may not be possible once an order is under way.
- If an item runs short, a substitute keeps the basket's design, value and presentation.
- No signature is needed unless the order calls for one; gifts with alcohol go only to adults 21 or older, with age verification.
